The World Health Organisation and leading centres for disease control agree that the incidence of chronic disease such as heart disease, cancer and diabetes is higher than ever before.

This can be attributed largely to the state of our diets that are woefully inadequate in nutrient-rich whole foods.

The facts are:

  • 90% of us don’t eat the recommended 7 – 10 servings of fruits and vegetables per day
  • 70% of us admit to eating foods that actually contribute to poor health
  • Less than one serving of whole grains are consumed per day; many don’t even get that
  • Protective lipids and sterols have been stripped from whole grains to increase their shelf life
  • Many don’t eat fish in adequate amounts, sometimes due to concerns about the presence of heavy metals and contaminants.

The problem and solution both seem to be in the food we eat. As nutrition is vital to our health, food additions or deletions can be an important part of the kinesiology balance.

Personally, I encourage people to build themselves up nutritionally rather than deplete themselves further if their bodies are under stress.

So a weight loss programme will start with overall health and nutrition and increasing energy before putting the body under more stress by depleting what it is used to receiving.
